This series was a reaction to comments I would hear about photographs and digital images were less impressive because they were missing the artist’s hand. I decided to create digitally manipulated photographs using only the hand as a subject matter and enlarging them to 40″ x 60″ silver gelatin prints. The result, impressive, larger-than-life digitally manipulated photographs with personality.
Blackout Exhibit
The hand series was part of a two person exhibit called “Blackout” in 2000. The entire exhibit was composed of large 60″x40″ Silver Gelatin Prints by Jennifer Price and I.

In 2001, one of the pieces from this series was published in Canvas, an undergraduate literary and arts magazine in the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
